LogicPro I looks as though freezing has the advantage of preserving the audio quality of the track over the bounce method.

I assume the plug-ins are completely disabled upon playback for that track once the freezing is activated? The goal is to reduce the load on the CPU I logic pro x how to freeze tracks free, for instance, muting a track mutes the sound output, but the plug-ins are still processing in the background. To disable that processing logic pro x how to freeze tracks free track has to be turned to OFF.

Correct, however you'd hear a difference only if the track had a very, very, VERY low level to start with. With any kind of reasonable level you wouldn't hear the difference. And the freeze method has the inconvenient of not being able to add further plug-ins, or to perform further editing on the track.

It also has the inconvenient of placing more strain on your RAM usage. So in most cases I would favor the bounce method. But the question that needs to be asked is: what is your goal? Why are you trying to freeze or bounce a track?

The ultimate goal should dictate which to choose. And if there's no clear goal for doing it, then don't. My new Logic Pro Book is out!

I've been searching index of adobe after effects cc free and low for an explicit answer to this, and this is as close as I have found. Therefore, if you're comfortable committing, you'll get better results by bouncing as opposed to freezing. There is no real CPU difference between the two methods. Both just render an audio file - the main difference being the freeze file is generally a bit float file, whereas a bounce is usually bit fp.

But that's irrelevant to the CPU performance. You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. Paste as plain text instead. Only 75 emoji are allowed. Display as a link instead. Clear editor. Upload or insert images from URL. Need help signing in?

SideBMusic Posted May 20, Posted May 20, I learned that bouncing a track allows playing back an audio file without having to process the real-time plug-ins. However, wouldn't freezing a track achieve the same results? And make it easier to return to the original track for edits? What are the advantages and disadvantages to freezing or bouncing a track? David Nahmani Posted January 17, What des99 said. So that means that bouncing will be less stress on your HD than 32 bit logic pro x how to freeze tracks free will be.
